Managed services are an important procurement and contracting channel within our UK life science businesses today and BD anticipates significant growth potential via this channel in coming years and intends to scale capabilities accordingly. Additionally, BD is seeking to expand its managed service capability into new healthcare environs such as End-to-end Medication Management Solutions for NHS Acute Trusts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with people management experience to help shape and manage the day to day operational aspects of BD's managed services. The success of the managed services team is reliant upon effective cross functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Support functions within the life science business units. The Team Leader will manage relationships with all partners, define roles within the team and ensure all functions understand their responsibilities. You will ensure current complex processes are operating effectively and will drive continuous efficiency improvements across all processes and optimise usage of our systems and tools. Objective will be to deliver against customer expectations as defined in the managed service contracts. This role will report into the UKI Managed Service Contracts Manager.
The successful applicant will manage the day-to-day back-office team of specialists ensuring administrative tasks and responsibilities are fulfilled in a timely manner. The role, whilst starting as life sciences, will evolve over time to accommodate other Business units and environs. It will require working closely with the Integrated Diagnostic Solutions, BD Biosciences, Technical Services, Customer Service and Applications Support teams as well as other key partners in all life science Business units. BD anticipates significant growth potential with managed services and as such, you will need to ensure the team adapts in an agile manner and supports future growth in our life science business.
As a principle Managed Service provider, you will be required to forge a strong team that has excellent relationships with internal partners and external suppliers. The role requires drive to build upon current systems and processes, handle and develop talent, and collaborate effectively with all touch points. Excellent time & project management, along with relationship building will help ensure business continues to grow and evolve with time. The role requires positive and adaptable approach to manage the workload which can be very demanding. A high level of discretion is paramount, especially when dealing with competitor prices and commercially sensitive information.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years experience of people management, gained within a large organisation within commercial management or a sales / support capacity. Ideally you with have gained this experience in a healthcare environment, however we welcome applications from other sectors.
You will be comfortable leading a team to deliver commercial excellence covering managed service operations including contract management, tracking of performance vs SLA's and resolution of issues, managing 3 parties, internal and external reporting, management of managed service systems and processes, proactively driving improvements in our customer experience.
Experience of managing a managed service operation or having worked in a managed service environment would be an advantage.
You must be comfortable for some ad-hoc travel across UKI and be flexible with working hours as required by the business.
