Sheridan Maine are supporting a highly successful organisation based on the South Coast, near Fareham, to recruit a specialist financial accounting opportunity dealing with a variety of accounting and reporting requirements for external clients.
Reporting to the Finance Manager the job responsibilities will include bookkeeping and accounting for a range of complex funds and liaising with clients as required. This will include higher level reconciliations of accounting transactions, and assisting to prepare investor reports and statutory statements. You will also deal with the completion of routine audit queries. You will also have the opportunity to mentor more junior staff members with a view to developing your management skills.
The successful candidate is likely to be part qualified, or potentially recently Qualified (ACA, ACCA), from within an audit/practice firm seeking a move into industry, although specific fund accounting experience from within industry would also be of interest. Experience of dealing with fund management would be advantageous although candidates with general audit exposure, especially from mid-tier or smaller firms are also encouraged to apply. Previous exposure to preparing statutory financial statements and of reviewing statutory accounts would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the role.
