They are looking for a candidate to join their Research / R&D team to streamline the growth of their upcoming and existing products.
Key responsibilities for the Research Engineer - Optical / Photonics, will include:
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and your work will be integral to the development of the novel aspects of new products, informing development ideas, creating hypotheses and performing lab-based experimentation of prototypes in active parts of the product.
Person specification for the Research Engineer - Optical / Photonics, will include:
-Required to analyse data from tests and, in collaboration with the team, form conclusions and decide on directions for further development work.
-Calculate expected outcomes from theory to assist with hypothesis creation and to use literature research to achieve this if required.
-Required to keep generally up to date with relevant scientific and technical literature and conference attendance, in order to provide state-of-the-art solutions to technical problems.
Person Requirements for the Research Engineer - Optical / Photonics, will include:
A 1st or upper 2nd class degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, physics, natural sciences, engineering or other closely related discipline.
You must have some industrial experience in one or more of the following:
-Development of scientific instrumentation products
-Familiarity with optical sensing technologies or general optics and photonics principles
