INTRODUCTION TO LOD
We are the original New Law pioneer. Over the past decade, we have transformed the way in which lawyers, consultants and legal teams work. Today, we are one of the largest and fastest growing flexible legal services businesses, continuing to lead the market we created.
We provide our lawyers and paralegals with the freedom to work flexibly, the stimulating environment you deserve, and the support you need to succeed. During your assignment you will be provided with access to necessary know-how, support and training in order to develop your career.
WORKING WITH PARALEGALS
We are aiming to augment an existing team of paralegals to support our client base, as we see increasing interest in paralegal support. The team supports various multinational companies, including a major global tech business.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are seeking bright law graduates or experienced paralegals to join an existing team of paralegals working on both contract review and legal ops projects.
A significant part of this role will be taken up by contract review, in particular lower risk matters. This involves working closely with stakeholders, reviewing submissions for legal assistance and ensuring all steps of the contract lifecycle are completed in a timely fashion.
Legal Operations is also an important part of this role and you will be expected to support LOD clients but also LOD HQ team with legal ops project. This may involve updating and creating training materials, as well as improving internal legal processes. Working as part of the LOD paralegal team requires good attention to detail, along with an ability to operate with initiative and at speed.
The queries and matters you work on can be varied and new, which requires resourcefulness and initiative in order to problem-solve.
You need to have an open mind to enjoy this role, as neither LOD nor the client can predict the legal projects or contracts that will land on your desk. This means that periods of incredibly busy workload at peak times are counterbalanced with very quiet weeks where tasks can become more repetitive.
We are looking for people with curious minds and a strong interest in the continuous improvement of processes and ways of working. While you don't need extensive contract or legal ops experience, you need to have a natural inclination to be organised and take ownership for an outcome.
This role offers a moderate level of autonomy and we expect you to be able to spot issues and risks, as well as escalate them accordingly. We are looking for people who foster a positive and dynamic team environment. This includes a willingness to share learnings and support your fellow team-members where you have valuable insight.
The commitment is full time, 5 days per week. You will be based remotely for now and some days in the office when possible.
You would be engaged on a 6 months rolling basis contract.
You will be supported by a LOD Senior Delivery Lead and Lead Lawyer, both experienced contracts managers who will act as a supervisor to help with capacity management, practical escalations, quality control and knowledge improvement.
