Manufacturing Project Engineer

Working as a Project Engineer for a pioneering hi-tech manufacturing organisation you will take a lead role in the management of Capital equipment procurement projects for a growing facility in Huntingdon. The management of bespoke automated production equipment will play a key role in the development of a constantly growing product range within the company.

You will be working with new product development within a very dynamic R&D team. You will need strong project management experience and need be autonomous, being flexible with your approach. A strong technical background will be required in electro-mechanical engineering but above all enthusiasm and the willingness to learn is key in an ever-changing environment. This is a great opportunity for either a junior engineer with 2-3 years' experience in industry with project management or would suit a more senior project engineer with strong experience in a very technical area for example machine vision, automated systems, PC driven machinery etc.

You will work within a diverse project group acting as a key member in the specification, supplier selection and project co-ordination throughout design, build and validation of projects. Other responsibilities will include:

Overall responsibility for delivering automation projects on time and in budget to high quality standards.
Taking ownership of transferring a product line from another site into manufacturing.
Liaising with various internal teams to identify the correct equipment needed to drive the business forward.
Coordinating the full procurement cycle including design, build, off site validation delivery installation and commissioning.
Communicating with other members of the project team to support various programmes.
Candidate will need:
Experience of working in a hi-tech manufacturing environment which uses hi-tech automated and capital equipment.
A strong technical understanding with the ability to lead and influence multidiscipline teams of engineers.
Experience in equipment specification and supplier validation would be beneficial.
Requirements

Degree educated in electromechanical engineering.
Project management experience.
Demonstrable experience of Manufacturing/ Engineering (automated industries)
Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques
The Management of complex capital equipment projects including budgets
