Contract Assignment - Data Centre Facilities Manager M&E

Reference - 12950

Day Rate - £425 - £450 per day Inside of IR35

Duration - 6 months initial contract

Start Date - ASAP

Location - Remote
  • Must have Mechanical & Engineering Experience
  • Must have Financial Services Experience

This position requires excellent consulting skills in the following disciplines: Power chain, Thermal chain, Cabling, Safety and overall Data Center facility technologies. This person should specialise in these disciplines and be experts across many categories. Having hands on experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines that will help support our client's enterprise challenges with projects both new and/or retrofit.

Responsibilities/Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Partnering with business executives to understand their key business drivers and goals
  • Act as a visionary and strategist to analyse and solve business technology problems
  • Heavy client interactions to problem solve and select the right technologies
  • Writing design outlines and compiling design criteria
  • Creating and presenting business case and ROI statements
  • Meet with Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and/or general contractors to define scope
  • Knowledge and capabilities of AutoCAD, Revit, VISIO and other production software
  • Strong understanding of National and Local codes and standards i.e. ANSI. EIA/TIA
  • Perform physical site surveys and assessments to collect data and build requirements
  • Knowledge of IT network infrastructure including basic hardware and network functionality
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
  • Ability to calculate cooling and heating loads from IT hardware
  • Ability to help prepare cost estimates to determine budgets
  • Oversee project delivery teams in both direct and matrixed relationships
  • Review and approval of construction shop drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Ability to determine compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment, and installed work meets contract requirements
  • Implement and uphold site safety, communications, and quality assurance plans
  • Plan and coordinate implementation changes to services as needed to keep construction progress on schedule and minimize disruption to ongoing client operations
  • Ability to successfully and continuously meet and exceed project goals

Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in relevant field required
  • Engineering; Master's Degree or other advanced education is preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of progressive management experience with direct and indirect teams
  • 5+ years of successful delivery of large-scale programs and technology deployments
  • Current affiliation and/or membership with local, state, or national industry organisation(s)
  • Experience with global financial organisations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to quickly resolve conflict in a professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, while maintaining close attention to detail
  • An industry certification are a plus i.e. BICSI: RCDD, ESS, DCDC
  • Willing to travel 75%
  • Must be able to pass a background check
