Purpose of Role:
This role is in our Commercial Business Systems (CBS) department, providing best in class applications to our internal workforce. You will be working as part of the Lead to Invoice Tribe, primarily focussed on enhancing our extensive Salesforce platform to deliver business value to multiple business units across the organisation.
As a Principal Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in connecting our technology team with our internal customers, ensuring we fully understand the challenges and opportunities of each business unit, and that the solutions we design and build meet the businesses strategic goals.
In addition to performing complex analysis to a high standard for the squad you are working within, you will also have line management responsibility for a team of BAs. You will be responsible for developing and coaching your direct reports to deliver Business Analysis professional excellence.
This role will work collaboratively within the Lead to Invoice Tribe and the broad stroke of your responsibilities as the BA in this tribe will be:
Eliciting requirements from multiple stakeholders across the business
Translating business requirements into well-crafted, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development and testing teams to work from
Updating Jira with user stories, epics, themes
Ensuring solution design meets requirements
Working with testers to define test cases
Defining & documenting non-functional requirementsIn addition to individual squad contribution, the Principal BA will also have the following responsibilities:
Line management of a team of BAs
Ensuring professional excellence across the department in terms of Business Analysis through effective coaching, support and engagement with the BA chapter
Working collaboratively with Product Owners and Delivery Managers to help plan utilisation of BA resources across key projects and initiativesExperience/knowledge/skills/behaviours:
Extensive experience as a BA working with technical development team(s) across the full SDLC, translating complex business requirements from a broad range of stakeholders into themes, epics and user stories
Extensive experience working in Agile development with a proven track record of delivery
Experience coaching or mentoring other BAsDesirable:
Experience with JIRA, Salesforce, Apttus CPQ or Apttus BillingType of person that would suit this role:
