The East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) are looking for a forward-thinking and innovative Information Manager to work as part of the Digital, Data and Technology Team on a full time, permanent basis.

EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. EMSOU focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of Serious and Organised Crime.
In your role as Information Manager, you will support EMSOU by helping us to understand and mitigate information security and information management risks. You will be responsible for managing strategic actions and delivering a positive information management culture by providing independent advice, guidance and direction to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation and standards. You will be able to identify organisational and operational risks and implement tactical and strategic plans to successfully mitigate those risks.
You will take the lead in developing the organisational strategy, policy, processes and procedures, assisting regional force colleagues in discharging their responsibilities around data protection and information management. Working independently, you will be the subject matter expert and key point of contact, as you collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across EMSOU, including Heads of Department and the Senior Leadership Team, maintaining productive relationships both across the organisation and with external partners.
You'll be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, such as Information Management or Information Security and/or have significant relevant work experience in a similar role, as well as extensive, practical knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance. You will have previously conducted detailed information security and information management reviews and successfully delivered improvement plans, in addition to previous experience of preparing for and conducting rigorous audit and compliance regimes
