About the role

The Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) is looking for someone to fill an exciting opportunity in exam editing and development.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of MRCS and DO-HNS MCQ papers. Proofread new and updated questions
  • Assisting the Question Editor with the development and management of the MRCS and DO-HNS OSCE banks, including arranging and running question-writing session
  • Maintaining security of the MRCS and DO-HNS banks and questions
  • Supporting the development, maintenance and co-ordination of the SIMS database & IMRCS database for the department in liaison with the Systems Co-ordinator.
  • Covering the duties of the Systems Coordinator in supplying examination statistics, ordering question papers from printers and scanning of MCQ answer sheets
  • Assisting the Question Editor in producing reports and data for the OSCE standard setting meetings and MCQ and OSCE subgroup meetings

About you
  • Strong Excel skills are essential
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Interest in and general understanding of editorial matters
  • Ability to produce high quality and accurate written materials in a variety of formats
  • Good keyboard and word-processing skills
