This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who are creating the future of sustainable travel. They are currently looking for a Driveline Engineer to join their team.

The company

Our client design, manufacture and sell advanced single and double deck buses within the automotive market. They have developed a range of low-carbon buses with optimised drive systems, setting the benchmark for fuel economy and CO2 reduction. Their lightweight engineering, premium service and low running costs all contribute to these advanced passenger vehicles designed for a global market.

The role

As a Driveline Engineer you'll lead on the application and integration of e-axle and driveline systems, working on these projects from concept to production. Your core focus will be researching and developing driveline systems that will be used in commercial vehicles, making sure that quality, function, cost and other targets are met. Responsibilities include:
  • Working on the application and integration of e-axle and driveline systems
  • Working from concept to production release
  • Developing driveline systems for commercial vehicles
  • Coordinating supplier liaison activities
  • Managing driveline projects and delivering them to targets
  • Studying the system portfolio
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise efficiencies
  • Providing technical support for development issues
  • Undertaking root cause analysis for development issues
  • Producing technical reports
  • Coordinating and participating in design reviews

The requirements

You'll have a strong track record working on drivelines systems in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries. Other requirements include:
  • Degree-level education in an engineering field (ideally Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Experience working on driveline systems
  • Experience with and knowledge of vehicle electrification
  • Good CAD skills, including CATIA and Solidworks
  • Proficient at presenting technical material to suit different audiences
  • Able to problem solve effectively
  • Able to lead on root cause analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with a start-up environment desirable
