Due to ongoing expansion, Alten Ltd is looking for an Electrical Power engineer to join our team in the UK within the Defence sector. This is a fantastic chance to join a fast-growing company with strong core values of; Excellence, Accountability, Integrity and Service.

Your new role:

As an Electrical Power engineer you will be performing on one of our major engineering projects in the UK. You will also be contributing to our development and growth within the Defence industry.

As an Electrical Power engineer your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Coordinate the electrical system design and system integration;
  • Define the intended system design and operation, write system design documentation, analyse system performance;
  • Provide technical oversight and direction to sub-tier suppliers - specify, verify, and validate component performance;
  • Manage interfaces with other systems (e.g. Control & Instrumentation, distribution systems, safety systems, platform management system)
  • Support electrical power system analysis or system load analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Engineering, with a result oriented and proactive mind-set. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on several exciting projects throughout their career with Alten, developing their engineering knowledge as an Electrical Power engineer and a consultant.

Experience required:
  • 6+ years of industrial experience within Marine/Maritime, Rail or plant.


Qualifications required:
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (ideally Electrical Engineering) with demonstrable related experience;
  • Eligible to get a Security Clearance.
