About the role
Here at Babcock International, we're looking to recruit a two Marine Engineers to carry out mechanical repair to marine engines, including outboard engines and associated equipment or systems, including electrical.
Further responsibilities include:
* Plan & implement preventative maintenance schedules for boats, their marine engines and related equipment.
* Be able to carry out diagnostic testing on marine engine, transmissions, drives, generators, and other equipment, both in situation and in the workshop. Determining any repair requirement, tuning, adjustments or replacement, communicating with LFB about necessary repairs.
* Install, repair & maintain boat hydraulics, including valves, hoses and auxiliary equipment.
* Rewire ignition systems, lights, instrument panels and other marine electrical systems.
* Safely operate customer vessels or other watercraft under varying weather conditions.
What do I need to do the role?
As a skilled Marine/Industrial Mechanical Engineering Technician, with an HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent demonstrating both theoretical and a number of years practical experience in fault diagnosis, and repair of diesel and petrol engines.
What else do I need to know?
All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
Although normal hours of work are 40 per week on a day-work basis, there is a requirement for additional attendance outside this period and provide call out cover, in response to operational and emergency requirements.
