Our client has 4 sites throughout Yorkshire and is recognised as a key regional player in the Tool and Plant Hire market.

Along with their Tool and Plant hire division, the Company also hires a full range of powered access platforms and provides construction-based training courses.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and competent Workshop Mechanic to work at their Northallerton Depot. This position is very hands on and is both varied and challenging as you will be working on a variety of equipment.

Main/key responsibilities will be:
  • Maintain, fault find, repair and service Small Tools, Plant and Powered Access including electrical PAT Testing.
  • Be able to prioritise work
  • Be self-motivated
  • Team Player
  • Attention to detail
  • Mentor apprentices and coach junior members of the workshop team

Skills, Qualifications and Qualities required:
  • Relevant mechanical / electrical experience - Min 5 years
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or similar or a proven time served track record.
  • Competent with Diesel and Petrol engines, hydraulics, electrics and small tools
  • Driving Licence (being able to tow would be advantageous)
  • Smart appearance
  • Fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment (within H&S guidelines)
  • You must have your own tool kit
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Team player with a can-do attitude

Salary/Benefits
  • Hours of Work: 7.30am/5pm Monday to Friday
  • Starting Salary: £Competitive Market Rate
  • Holidays: 20 days plus Bank Holidays
