SUMMARY

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join the networks team within HL. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person to further their career using network and security technologies. The HL network operates across multiple sites in the UK and Europe. We utilise several different vendors across our product portfolio to deliver a stable and secure network that our business relies upon.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Daily use of the HL internal workflow system
  • Adhering to the departments change control policy & configuration standards
  • Edge & Data Centre Switch Configuration
  • Data Hall & Equipment Room Patching
  • Completing changes and maintenance of HL Firewall Security Policies
  • Load balancer configurations LTM, GTM, ASM, AFM & APM Modules
  • Analysis of Network Traffic for Incident Resolution, with emphasis on how to avoid repeat incidents
  • Leveraging and contributing improvements to the team's 'How To' guides.
  • Act as a mentor to Network Support Team
  • Continuous Improvement across all duties and tasks
  • Working with 3rd party suppliers

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • Industry / Vendor Based Training
  • Specialist knowledge of L2 / L3 Concepts
  • Expert in troubleshooting network solutions (LAN/WAN)
  • Understanding of TLS / SSL Encryption
  • High Availability Protocols such as HSRP, VRRP, Cluster XL
  • Around 5 Years Exposure to Networking or security technologies
  • Configuration / Deployment of Firewalls / Switch's / Load Balancers
  • Data Centre Cabling & Patching
  • Network Monitoring Tools - Solar Winds / Nagios
  • Best Practice Firewall Policy Management
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Use of MS Office Suite
  • Support, and troubleshoot across a wide range of technology verticals.
  • Ability to work to tight time frames
  • Able to prioritise work loads
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Works well in a team
  • Work well with other technology specialists
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload
  • Willingness to learn and develop
