Enterprise Architect - London With work from home capabilities

Our client is a a highly prestigious not for profit organisation providing support to 200,000 professionals with a global audience.

The Senior Enterprise Architect will set the technical direction and establish the approach of the organisation's technical operations, improve the IT infrastructure, and optimise business operations. The Senior Enterprise Architect will work to integrate the information applications and programs. The role holder will ensure that the architecture aligns and fulfils the strategic and operational objectives of the technology services directorate which must be aligned with the organisational objectives. Working in collaboration with the Technology Services teams this role will chair the technical review and technical design authority, ensuring compliance and alignment to our IT strategy. This role will assess technology changes to improve our product proposition or drive efficiencies and provide strategic consultancy to our business community.

The role holder's responsibilities include:
  • evaluations and recommendations on improving the current IT infrastructure
  • optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs
  • cataloguing, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities
  • working with the Programme Director for technology & business transformation (T&BT) on strategy and execution of system and process re-architecture
  • creating business architecture models to reflect the organisation's, and aligned to them, the technology services directorate strategic objectives
  • overseeing the sign off and implementation of architecture models through appropriate channels such as the Technical Design Authority
  • working with the Cyber Security Principal to evaluate systems engineering models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities
  • organizing training/knowledge transfer to improve employees' knowledge and skills for future organizational growth/capacity
  • ensuring high standard methods & processes for compliance and data security architecture, such as data storage, metadata management, and change control
  • determining and implementing buy versus build strategies and aligning products and services towards Microsoft Azure/365 inter-operability
  • define the enterprise principles to guide solution decisions for the enterprise
  • to provide strategic consultation through stakeholder engagement in defining or designing business process, as well as acquisition integration and alignment

Skills sought:
  • TOGAF certification and/or Professional Cloud Architect (or equivalent)
  • Min 8 years' experience in IT including business process design
  • Proven ability to work with Enterprise Architecture frameworks
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures using appropriate tools/modelling languages (e.g. UML)
  • Significant knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and integration technologies
  • Proven ability to define architecture roadmaps and associated strategies
  • Excellent communicator and can document and explain complex issues to a variety of stakeholders
  • Proven experience of architecture design analysis
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience, including development of business vision
  • Ability to analyse project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems that involve remote and elusive symptoms, often spanning multiple environments in a business area
