Role: Infrastructure Technical Lead

Location: Flexible home working with one day per week in the Manchester office post COVID

Salary: Up to £60,000 plus bonus and other benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Our mission - It's simple, to take out all the irritations and hold-ups that make changing cars trickier than it needs to be. With backing from a large multinational company and PE finance, this is a very unique opportunity to join a start-up in the early stages of our growth and to join a brand that you'll be proud to have played a key part in building.

Location - Our product and tech teams are historically based in the heart of Manchester whilst our marketing and operations departments are based in London and Surrey; today we are fully remote but in future, we expect to collaborate in the office at least one day a week.

You - So, do you have a faff-free filter? Do you want to work in an energetic team, with open-mindedness and passion? We're looking for people who are agile, full of ideas and want to challenge the norm. In this role you would lead a small team of engineers making use of infrastructure as code to build internal platforms and end user computing services.

what you'll be working on

• Help to secure and monitor our AWS and SaaS environments

• Leading squad engineering practices, reviewing design decisions, guiding and mentoring

• Collaborating with stakeholders to guide product development and prioritise work items

• Ensure our staff have access to the best SaaS tools available when working at home or in the office

• Build internal platforms and capabilities using infrastructure as code

• Developing serverless tools and guardrails delivering a frictionless developer experience

• Implementing best in breed build, test, deployment and monitoring processes

• Continually identifying areas for improvement through automation, documentation, process or working methods

• Pushing the boundaries, questioning the status quo, ensuring what we are doing and what we are building is the very best it can be

things we look for in you

• Experience of working with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK and Terraform

• Passionate about DevOps tools and the value they can add to traditional IT

• Have a good understanding of automation techniques and best practices

• Experience with any of the following a bonus

o Software engineering using TypeScript

o An AWS certification

o Working in a range of IT roles such as networking, firewall configuration or directory management

o Building collaboration and end user computing solutions using SaaS products

• Understand the importance of driving quality into code through test automation
