Paint Shop Manager (Kitchens), Hyde - Manchester

£30,000 - £35,000 p/annum, Monday to Friday (Days)

I am currently recruiting an experienced Paint Shop Manager who has experience in the kitchen and bathroom industry, you will be responsible for managing a team of paint sprayers and have full responsibility of all operating functions of the paint shop as detailed below.

Working as part of the Operations Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring all work is undertaken to the highest professional standards whilst leading, managing and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional performance and results.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:

Motivate the individuals within the team to generate a vibrant, positive, team orientated culture which is focused on delivering outstanding result
Responsible for daily performance of the Spray Shop, ensuring the department is achieving KPIs and managing operational resource correctly
Drive continuous improvement within the Spray Shop
Oversee the scheduling all the work through the Spray Shop, ensuring all schedules are lean and efficient
Control labour requirements, flexing with agency staff when required
Deliver daily team meetings and report to senior management on key issues via various delivery methods including daily huddle, formal meetings etc
To ensure the Spray Shop is capable of delivering the volume requirements of the business in a fast and efficient way whilst ensuring customer service requirements are met; measured by KPIs and internal SLAs
Responsible for achieving targets as set by the Head of Operations
Implement colleague training where necessary and keep training records up to date
Ensuring costs are controlled effectively, whilst delivering a high level of service
Ensure all records of work are kept up to date and accurate
Ensure work is carried out to the timescales set and internal processes adhered to
Ensure all items from the Spray Shop are quality checked prior to dispatch
Liaise with relevant Managers on customer issues/complaints/queries
Monitor and manage team performance and identify areas for improvement
Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that all staff are complying to the relevant H & S protocol and SSOW
Carry out formal investigations as and when required, in-line with the company's disciplinary procedure.
Ensure that the Spray Shop is kept clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety requirements
Strive, with the other members of the Spray Shop team, to achieve all of the department's objectives
Deal with first line people management issues timely and appropriately
Deal with HR related issues i.e. disciplinaries, grievances etc.
Create a vision on new projects within the spray shop
Communicate and feedback within your teamCandidate specification

Excellent people manager
Open communicator - able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms
Ability to drive and deliver new initiatives and process improvements
Able to think logically to make commercial decisions and use their own judgement
Flexible and willing to work appropriate hours and when required to meet the needs of the business and customers.
Possess the ability to manage, develop and inspire people
Experienced in high volume output to tight deadlines
Proven ability to add value to existing processes and procedures
Ability to maintain a professional standard at all times Work experience/educational requirements


Previous experience of people management (minimum of 2 years)
Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel)
Experienced sprayer
Experience of production scheduling working through a work-shop
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation, COSHHDesirable

Experience of working in the KBB industry
L.M. qualifications an advantage
MHE licence holder an advantage
