About The Role
Position summary

As a member of the Managed Security Services team, you will be responsible for helping to build, deliver, and evolve our Managed Cloud Security services in AWS and/or Azure. Reporting to the Managed Security Services Practice Lead and working closely with the Managed Security Service Product Manager, you will research technologies, design, and build new services for the Security Business Unit. Tasks will include:
Job Purpose
  • Build and maintain services that support the busines ambition of being a leading Managed Cloud Security Services provider in Hyperscaler technologies
  • Investigate and analyse Hyperscaler technologies, creating new and enhancing existing services to harness the latest developments and tooling
  • Working in a cross-functional team, execute technical development and delivery of the cloud security services including research and development, solutions architecture, testing, and quality assurance
  • Provide input and feedback on Claranet and Customer security architectures
  • Partake in defining the strategic direction of the cloud security services portfolio
  • Take responsibility with the Managed Security Services Practice Lead and the Business Unit Director for continuous improvement of the existing offerings and the creation, launch and management of new propositions


About The Candidate
Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Managed Security Services Practice Lead, you will be duties and responsibilities, either directly or delivered through your team, will include:
Technical Service Development
  • Support the creation, management, and execution of the service roadmap
  • Convert designs into full operational services
  • Conversion of existing services into Cloud ready options, harnessing native tooling where possible or augmenting existing services to align to the Hyperscaler
  • Development of new services using Cloud native tooling enabling Claranet Cyber Security to provide a full Managed Cloud Security Service
  • Production of technical documentation and designs for review by the project team and other decision makers
  • Content creation including feature/service component write-ups, technical service descriptions, and supporting document to be used by the Product Management team
  • Content creation to support sales and marketing efforts
    Pre-sales
  • Technical Qualification - ensuring that the sales team is supported in the technical qualification of early stage opportunities
  • Discovery - gathering complete technical information by working with clients to identify the goals, requirements, existing practices and technologies, and technical outcomes
  • Product Demonstrations - Ensuring that sales are supported with participation calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via Video Conference Platforms and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to show how security solutions can meet business needs
  • Relationships - Identify, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Workshops - provide subject matter expertise through delivery of workshops
  • POCs - Provide technical success by installing and supporting all aspects of the POC through to acceptance or decommissioning
  • Responding to Customer Technical Implementation Questions
  • RFP (Request for Proposal) technical input in design (including working across multiple teams on bid responses)
  • Customer Events / Panels / Discussions (both remote and face to face)
    Post-sales
  • Installation / configuration and customer engagement / success (as required)
  • Lead solution design and deployment projects of trained security products
  • Leading technically on large cyber security projects and working closely with suppliers and end customers - This is a highly skilled specialist technical 'lead' role, requiring extensive knowledge and experience
    Essential qualifications & experience
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in a range of technologies or IT delivery.
  • Demonstrate commitment to on-going personal development
  • Professional qualification in IT or equivalent subject matter expertise
  • Experience in a Cyber Security or Hyperscaler technologies (Azure or AWS)
  • Demonstrable success in delivery of a technical solution in a large and complex organisation
  • A technical background in infrastructure, application support or service desk management
  • Able to communicate through exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as being comfortable portraying your communications skills to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Used to working through tight deadlines, prioritise tasks and manage in a busy pressurised climate
    Desirable qualifications and experience
  • Strong familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and cloud provider ecosystems like Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Practical knowledge of AWS/Azure foundation services related to compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies
  • Robust micro services programming (AWS Lambda, Docker, etc.)
  • Extensive experience architecting, designing, and programming applications and ample experience in high level programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic
  • Capability architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
  • Understanding of complex enterprise environments and current technology areas like cloud and mobility
