Business projects and tools

The team work closely with all areas of the business including front/middle office, fund accounting, quantitative analytics, risk management and economic research. They are responsible for the core technology platform upon which these areas operate.
Our stack is primarily focused on Microsoft .Net technologies, but we welcome candidates from a variety of object-orientated backgrounds. You will be given access to the latest tools including Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 and ReSharper, as well as a high specification workstation with triple screen monitors.

How will your day look?
Responsibilities will vary by specialism/focus but could include:
? Working with business users to identify technical challenges and opportunities
? Delivering industry-leading solutions to the highest design, testing and operational standards which exceed challenging SLAs
? Challenging current systems, processes and delivery approach to achieve common goals through technical excellence and innovation
? Working closely with Quant Analysts to help architect valuation and risk engines
? Proactively ensuring system stability, performance and accuracy

What makes a great candidate?
In order for you to get the most out of this role, you'll need to have:
? Excellent programming and technology skills, including an in-depth understanding of and recent programming experience in C#/.Net or other object orientated languages such as Java or Python
? Experience working with SQL databases
? A strong enthusiasm for programming and technology, and an appetite and ability to work in a dynamic and integrated team
? The ability to own all aspects of development projects from start to finish, from establishing business requirements and design development, to testing and release management
? Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
? Desire to understand and solve business problems, build domain knowledge and increase market understanding
? A levels at grade A*/A/B (or international equivalent) and a minimum 2.1 degree obtained in Computer Science, or a related field, from a Russell Group University

We would also prefer you to have:
? Front office experience at a bank, asset management firm or hedge fund
? Experience working with multiple developers/Quants/ Risk Managers/Traders
? Experience working with RESTful services and AMQP
? Full knowledge and experience of the Software Development Lifecycle
? Exposure to pair programming and test-driven development
? Focus on quality of the final product
