Leading business services group requires an additional junior/mid level regulatory lawyer as a result of continued expansion. are looking to recruit a junior to mid-level regulatory lawyer to join our expanding Financial Services Regulatory team at KPMG. The role will be based in London but with potential for on-site client work and the ability to work from home.
The successful candidate will have gained relevant experience in a leading City firm regulatory practice or in-house regulatory role.
What the role will involve:
The role will involve primarily non-contentious regulatory advice and delivery of client solutions in the context of a board range of financial services regulatory issues. This will include advising on the regulatory perimeter, financial promotions, regulatory considerations in corporate transactions and reorganisations and support on the implementation of regulatory change programmes. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience in these areas.
The role covers the following key areas:
* Technical Delivery - providing high quality financial services regulatory advice as part of the firm's own account work or as part of a multi-disciplinary project
* Business/Client Development - developing networks and maintaining excellent relationships to generate revenue for the firm internally within KPMG (in particular the Risk Consulting and Advisory teams) and externally with clients, responding to business development opportunities, innovating and creating practical commercial solutions to client issues relating to one or more areas of regulation
* Project Delivery - supporting engagements on a day to day basis, contributing effectively to project teams and taking responsibility for completing work
* Team Development - supporting and expanding our Financial Services Regulatory legal practice
You must have at least an upper 2nd class honours degree from an educational institution and show experience in dealing with complex financial services regulatory questions. Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.
As well as proving your strong communication, organisational skills and commercial awareness, a clear enthusiasm for business development will be essential as this is integral to growing the business.
You will need to show a collaborative approach with a strong client focussed ethic, and that you have the drive to build the reputation of the team internally and externally. The ideal candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for the regulatory legal environment in financial services.
