This boutique law firm with a national reputation in sexual abuse/assault civil claims is offering an ambitious professional, at the beginning of their career, the opportunity to become a Paralegal.

The successful Paralegal will have a clear interest in a legal career demonstrated by legal studies including ILEX qualifications, a law degree, or LPC. They will also need to be passionate about representing and advocating for survivors of sexual abuse.

You will have excellent IT and verbal and written communication skills and the initiative and ability to work in a team. You will gain exposure to highly experienced lawyers who are leaders in the field of sexual abuse litigation.


We are currently recruiting a Paralegal. This challenging role supports a team with a proactive approach to achieving the highest standards of excellence and client care in order to achieve justice for our clients.

They will primarily be supporting two senior fee earners with a view to ultimately progressing to having their own manageable case load under the supervision of a senior fee earner. They must be committed to team work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparing Instructions to Counsel, witness statements and court documents
  • Reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence to identify key information, statutory deadlines, timetables for future activity/requirements
  • Being responsible for collating medical, police and social services records
  • Taking new enquiries.
  • Filing court documents.
  • Perusing and analysing records
  • Preparation of CICA applications and personal injury Claims Portal submissions
  • Data entry and maintenance of case management system (Leap).
  • Reporting/liaising to clients as appropriate
  • Providing general support to Senior Fee earners.

The selected candidate will have:

Confidence, with proven initiative and a proactive attitude.

Excellent client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of a client's needs.

Excellent attention to detail and a forensic approach to document analysis.

Excellent team player skills

The ability to work to tight deadlines.

Excellent technical document management skills, including Word and Excel.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to be able to work effectively with all types of people

An ability to stay calm in demanding situations in particular when the fee-earners are operating under pressure.

Excellent analytical and organisational skills.

Proven ability to deal with confidential matters.

A willingness to participate in appropriate marketing including blog writing for website and events.
