A vacancy has arisen within NHS Forth Valley's Community Alcohol and Drug Service for a Band 7 Team Leader within Stirling/Clackmannanshire, based at St Ninians Health Centre, Stirling.
The post holder must be 1St level Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) trained to degree level, with post qualification training in relevant areas of speciality. It would be desirable to have a qualification in leadership and operational development or have a willingness to undertake this training. The post holder will provide clinical expertise, leadership and supervision to nursing staff engaged in the delivery of evidence-based, effective, specialist interventions to those with substance use problems.
The Team Leader will support the Clinical Department Manager in service development. They will also deputise for the Clinical Department Manager in their absence, including attending and chairing meetings where required. The postholder will be responsible for clinical governance and implementing evidence-based practice.
The Team Leader will implement and support the principles of the recovery model of care and treatment for those with people with drug/alcohol related issues. This involves the provision of formal, structured supervision to each member of the nursing team to ensure patients in treatment are progressing along the recovery pathway and receiving the appropriate clinical interventions.
The substance use services promote the recovery model and work to an integrated model of care in conjunction with partner agencies. Good interpersonal skills and experience of team working is an essential requirement for this post.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is also essential for this post.
