We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Compliance Coordinator to join our Compliance Team on a full time permanent basis, 35 hours per week. You will support the Team in developing, implementing and embedding a regular scheme of compliance activities throughout the business.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide day to day support to the Head of Compliance and the Compliance Business Partners
  • Key responsibility for the collation of the required inputs for Conduct & Compliance reporting including the agreement of the metrics and thresholds with the Head of Business Compliance/key stakeholders, and for liaising with the appropriate departments to ensure the inputs are correct and up to date
  • Develop and prepare reliable and informative management reporting
  • Support the Head of Business Compliance role as 'Data Owner', through having responsibility as the team's 'Data Steward'
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert regarding our business area's data and processes
  • Raise data issues and support with the business analysis of the data issue and informing the Data Owner of the issue and remediation.
  • Manage the compliance team action tracker to ensure that actions are followed up and closed in a timely manner, escalating any outstanding actions to the Head of Business Compliance
  • Facilitate the Compliance Team's Operational Risk Register

Support the business
  • Respond to queries from Golden Charter employees, Funeral Directors and Intermediaries via phone and the mailbox, highlighting trends to the wider compliance team
  • Take ownership of the Compliance intranet page, working with the wider compliance team to create a programme of blogs, articles etc., updating FAQs on a quarterly basis and ensuring all content is up to date
  • Facilitate legal advice requests to ensure that there is no duplication of questions/requests sent to the company lawyer
  • Day to day administration of insurance notifications and claims including liaising with internal departments to answer insurance queries, review of monthly pipeline cases, collation and completion of annual renewal forms for sign off Complete sign off for customer facing materials

Conduct compliance monitoring/activity:
  • Monitor completion of eLearning, chasing non completion where appropriate and escalating to line management of colleagues when necessary

The successful candidate will have:
  • Awareness of the FCA, FPA and UK regulatory environment
  • Proven background in a compliance or a risk based role
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to produce work within set timescales
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communication regulatory information to stakeholders
