This is a diverse role where you will not only lead a team of 5 IT Engineers but also collaborate with management to help build-out the company’s and client’s future technology decisions.

We are looking for a candidate to join as the Head of IT / Technical Services Manager who
+ is technically strong
+ is capable of representing the company in front of clients
+ has a proven track record of managing a service desk team
+ is a hands-on leader that can drive the current service delivery standards and make improvements where required
The individual will be responsible for leading 5 members of the service desk team and work effectively with Operations and the Company Director in delivering the range of managed IT services they offer.
This role provides the opportunity for full ownership of the IT and strong influence into the strategy for both the company’s and its client’s future technology decisions.
+ Proven operational experience within an MSP environment
+ Good interpersonal skills be able to read and analyse situations against the bigger picture
+ Experience in managing in house and remote teams, energy, drive and the ability to bring the team with you
+ Strong influencing skills, cross functional collaboration with a focus on knowledge sharing
+ Excellent Problem solving and root cause analysis skills
+ Systems and process driven with meticulous attention to detail and standards
+ Good knowledge of quality standards, compliance, and best practice
+ Experience of managing a team and basic HR
Technical Skills Required include:
+ Strong understanding of Microsoft’s cloud offering including Office 365 and Azure
+ Experienced Tier 3 level IT Project Engineer and Manager
+ Strong understanding of and experience of virtualisation platforms
+ Comprehensive Microsoft stack knowledge
+ Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals and good understanding of advanced networking concepts.
+ Strong understanding of Firewalls/Routers/Storage
+ Strong understanding of security products and the cyber threat landscape
+ Familiar with a variety of backup/BC/DR products
+ Proven experience in an IT Support role and relevant industry qualifications. MCP, MCSA (etc.) CCNA, ITIL, PRINCE2 etc.
+ Strong report writing skills.
Other desirables include:
+ Knowledge of other non-Microsoft cloud platforms AWS, Google etc
+ Automation and scripting knowledge.
+ Good understanding of VOIP solutions
+ Programme Management Experience
+ Experienced in Compliance, ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials (for Head of IT role)
