As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the buying team by assisting in planning, developing, sourcing and buying commercial and competitively priced ranges that meet all company requested requirements whilst ensuring the smooth day to day running of the department.

Client Details

The company are going from strength to strength and as a result of internal progression are seeking to add to their buying Team. The business has been around for more than 80 years and are known for their British Heritage. Due to growth and new acquisitions, opening new store locations, a new brand added to the portfolio the business is looking for an Assistant Buyer - Clothing & Accessories

Description
  • Supporting the buyer to prepare for key meetings including, range build, selections and sign offs including setting up product and preparing business documents
  • Taking an active role in key meetings including presenting to senior management
  • All relevant administrative duties for the department, ensuring accuracy and compliance when utilising internal systems.
  • Taking ownership of sample management, ensuring all samples are kept tidy and correctly labelled. Correct samples are available for fit sessions, best sellers and all other meetings as required.
  • The product approval process including approving lab dips, strike offs, bulks and trims
  • Actively managing the critical path process alongside the merchandise team to maintain and progress all aspects of the critical path and providing feedback.
  • Assisting in the department strategy, demonstrating an understanding of the customer profile to actively contribute and make suggestions.
  • Communicating with suppliers about the status of orders to help to ensure the product critical path managed efficiently
  • Effectively communicating across the team and suppliers with regards to any issues, proposing solutions and updates accordingly.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the principles of design, production, merchandising, and supply chain.
  • Range building, colours, direction and product development of seasonal ranges with the supervision of my buyer.
  • Create in depth Garment specifications of all garments within the range- choosing product trims and linings etc.
  • Creating new brand manuals where appropriate.
  • Produce accurate design sheets / diagrams and sketches of garments and styling features.

Profile
  • Current working at Assistant Buyer level or similar
  • Experience across clothing, accessories, apparel or similar
  • Strong administration skills
  • Team Player who will muck in
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Self - motivated
  • To be neat and creative for presentation board
  • Essential to have good colour understanding and recognition
