An exciting opportunity for a bright and numerate graduate for a Data Analyst role has arisen at The Spectator .
The Spectator is Europe's fastest growing magazine. Having just surpassed the 100,000-subscriber mark, we need to put more focus on data as a means of driving acquisition and improving retention.
We are thus looking to hire a graduate with a relevant degree into our marketing team as Junior Data Analyst. This is a unique and nuanced role, so previous experience is not essential.
essential is a strong proficiency for numeracy and logic, as well as a passion for problem solving and analysis of data and trends. Meticulous attention to detail is also of paramount importance. For these reasons, a degree or diploma in a related field is essential to the role.
Therefore please only apply if you hold a qualification in one of the following areas:
- Data science
- Coding (though it's important to stress that this is NOT a coding role)
- Or something similar to the above
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Retention and spend much of their time using our bespoke built CRM database, which uses a program called Faststats to interpret and visualise data, as well as set up and execute campaigns and other processes.
It is vital that applicants to this role are skilled and competent at reporting and working with numbers and logic. A strong proficiency in Excel is desired. Knowledge and/or an interest in subscriptions models would also put you in good stead.
This is a junior role but presents a great opportunity for the right person to progress their career in a fast-growing and highly ambitious company. Skills and Knowledge:
- Qualification to degree level, in one of the following areas: Data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Coding, Accounting
- A keen interest in data analysis and marketing
- Ability to identify/grasp a problem and logically solve it
- Analytical and methodical approach to work with high level of attention to detail and numeracy
- Excellent skills in Excel
