Use your passion for creating great homes to transform lives.
Active Prospects is a successful and growing health and social care organisation supporting 300 people with learning disability and autism, and mental health needs.
We aim to develop 30 new flats each year in small clusters in the south east, working closely with commissioners in particular to enable people to leave institutional provision or hospital. We are looking for a new Board Member to chair our Business Development Committee with a background in property development and/or social housing.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications/competencies:
- Extensive professional or personal experience with significant leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, the community or the not-for-profit sector.
- A commitment to and understanding of the issues faced by people who use our services, preferably based on experience. We especially welcome customer members and/or their carers and families to be fully involved in our work.
- Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating and building consensus among diverse individuals.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and a passion for improving the lives of people who use Active Prospects services and inclusive services for our communities.
We particularly welcome applications from BAME communities which are currently under-represented on our board.
What’s in it for the volunteer?
By joining the board you will help to shape and deliver our new future plans which will enable us to continue delivering our invaluable services to our beneficiaries. We hope that by becoming a Trustee with us it will give you the reward of giving something back, making an impact locally, and being involved in bringing strategy to life.
Up to eight 2-hour evening meetings a year, plus an annual strategy away day normally held in November. Board meetings are held at our head office in Reigate. Reasonable travel expenses are payable.
