Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Type of Contract: Fixed Term (18 months)

Salary: £19,577 per annum

Association of Colleges is a leading membership organisation in the education sector; we exist to support colleges to do the best for their students, their staff and their communities. As our Communications Apprentice, you will be at the heart of everything the AoC comms team does - supporting colleges and working to tell compelling stories about how the college sector supports people, communities and the country. You'll have the chance to learn and work on all elements of communications and marketing. One day you might be helping to convince journalists to cover a story about apprentices, and the next you might be working on a social media campaign to help young people stay active and healthy. There will be a chance for you to help attract people to our events, and you'll get the opportunity to learn all about how to influence the government. There will be colleagues there to support you and your development every step of the way as you learn new skills and try things you may have never done before.

We don't expect you to be an expert in education policy, or to have had lots of experience in comms and marketing yet. All we need is for you to be enthusiastic, a team player, and willing to learn, with a relentless belief in the power of education to transform lives. We will help you develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to begin an exciting career in communications. We are lucky to have a Marketing Apprentice at AoC and you will have lots of opportunities to buddy up with them as you find your feet.

This is an exciting time to join AoC, our campaigning work is really starting to pay off - it is being recognised by the government, we are securing more and more press coverage, and we are getting the majority of members engaged in our work. But there is still so much to do and you can help us lead the change, making a real difference for millions of people.
