Encompass Southwest provides a range of advice, information and support services in communities across the south west of England, with a strong focus on rural/rural remote settlements. We focus on homelessness and rough sleeping, supported housing and financial inclusion. We are currently seeking new members to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee you will be involved in the governance of the charity, setting the strategic direction as well as supporting the Chief Officer.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for skilled, passionate individuals with strong strategic vision. Encompass is committed to reducing homelessness and poverty and it is vital that our Trustees share our vision. In addition to this, we would love to hear from people with particular skill sets such as (but not limited to) the areas of marketing, health or counselling, or business, or strategic thinkers with lived experience.
In addition to your statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise. The role would be suited to someone with or without previous board experience and presents a fantastic opportunity to not only showcase your knowledge and skills but learn from your fellow trustees

Encompass’ mission is to prevent and alleviate homelessness and poverty across Northern Devon and surrounding areas through advice, support and specialist housing with a strong focus on rural/remote rural locations. The important work of our Board of Trustees truly enables Encompass to achieve its aims.
Time Commitment and how to apply:
The board meet every 6-8 weeks.
