We supply direct to consumers, and to food service and retail channels in all the major international marketplaces.
We are searching for an experienced Technical / Quality professional who is looking for a new challenge to establish and run their own Technical department in our rapidly expanding food manufacturing business.
Fundamentally you will be responsible for ensuring that our ever-growing portfolio of luxury gourmet products are produced to the highest possible quality standards and that our production facility and our quality team operate with Safety at the forefront of everything we do.
Technical / Quality Manager – Luxury Food Brand
£40,000 per annum

Reporting to the Head of Operations your role will be continuing with work on our QMS system to align the business to BRC standards and deliver BRC accreditation within 18 months. You will also have responsibility for Health and Safety on site, supported by external resource as well as the internal team. You will be the lead for all customer technical queries and quality issues.
+ Understand customer needs and requirements, strive to achieve a 100% RFT, Right First-time culture.
+ Devise and review specifications to include but not limited to labelling, ingredients declarations, nutritional declarations, manufacturing and quality standards etc. for products and processes.
+ Set requirements for raw material / intermediate products for suppliers and monitor compliance.
+ Ensure adherence to Health and Safety guidelines as well as legal obligations.
+ Oversee all new product development procedures.
+ Implement product approval and positive release programmes.
+ Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
+ Manage all Internal and External Audits including HACCP / TACCP systems.
+ Provide sales support for any customer technical and product quality related queries.
+ Participation in other specialist projects as required to support ongoing business development.
+ Submit detailed reports to Head of Operations.
+ Consistently strive to improve our procedures and processes.
+ Proven experience as Technical /Quality manager with a SME sized food manufacturer or similar.
+ Higher qualification in; Food Safety, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or similar.
+ Strong attention to detail, analytical risk-based approach.
+ Qualified in HACCP principles and familiar with BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
+ Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
+ Ability to design and deliver training.
+ Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships with your team, customers, suppliers and the on-site team.
+ Strong organisational skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office.
+ In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
+ IOSH or NEBOSH qualification in Health and Safety.
+ £40,000 per annum
