Assistant Accountant

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our small team of 4 to support the financial growth of CV-Library and the related group companies.

This newly created role will report to the Head of Finance and will provide financial and administrative support across a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to management accounts preparation, VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll and supplier payments across the group.

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs (CV-Library, CV-Library Ireland and Resume-Library USA) on a timely basis
  • Accruals, prepayments, Intercompany and other month end journals
  • Month end close, prepare / review Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Daily / weekly KPI reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual budgets and forecasts
  • VAT Returns preparation and filing (UK Group return & Ireland return)
  • Year end and annual external Audit involvement
  • Ad hoc duties and projects (eg O.N.S returns, cost control, process efficiency)

Personal Requirements
  • At least 5 year's relevant experience and having worked in a similar Hands-on role
  • Minimum AAT Level 4 qualified or part qualified CIMA / ACCA
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (double entry, VAT, Tax)
  • Experience in dealing with transactions and reporting in multiple currencies (GBP,USD, EUR)
  • You will have strong IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Practical experience of accounting packages, previous use of SAGE 50 is desirable
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with managers of all levels
  • Be able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
