Our client is a leading media & communications agency that works for a significant number of leading global organisations. The business has a strong leadership team and is part of a highly successful international group. The agency can demonstrate a strong track record of growth and has the ambition


Reporting to the FD, you will be responsible for both financial and management reporting as well as providing business partner support for a number of key revenue generating parts of the agency. The role currently has two direct reports and will also require collaboration with the offshore finance operations team.

Core responsibilities will include:
  • Overall responsibility for the P&L (actuals and forecast & budget) and ensuring that the finance team produce month-end reporting and forecasting by the required deadlines
  • Work with the wider finance team to produce forecast & budget submissions inline with company objectives and that also meet shareholder requirements
  • Review the P&L actuals and re-forecast with to ensure full understanding of variances
  • Review of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce monthly agency reporting and commentary
  • Overall responsibility for working capital, working with the wider finance team to ensure that working capital targets are being met
  • Represent the agency on all aspects of credit control and working capital management
  • Provide senior technical support for the reporting team
  • Preparation of UK statutory accounts
  • Proactively review and interrogate balance sheet accounts with the wider finance team on a quarterly basis
  • Support the FD on ad hoc projects when required, e.g. process and systems improvement projects and acquisitions
  • Provide coaching support for the reporting team
  • Support on all financial aspects of new business proposals and pitches, advising and challenging the business on pricing proposals
  • Project manage the introduction of new clients
  • Draft standard client agreements, as well as reviewing and negotiating client contracts as a partner to other teams
  • Review client projects and budgets over a minimum threshold
  • Work closely with Business Heads and senior management to forecast revenue, partnering the business to ensure targets are met
  • Assess risks and challenge the business if revenue adjustments are required
  • Manage the new business pipeline and new income phasing with Business Heads
  • Support the business with headcount planning, providing advice on maintaining gross profit margin
  • Assess and analyse client profitability, partnering with the business to drive improvements
  • Partner with the business on revenue projections in order to develop the annual business plan


Successful candidates should demonstrate the following skills:
  • Qualified accountant, preferably having trained in audit within public practice
  • Previous team management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to form great relationships with senior non-finance staff
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills
  • Advanced system skills, especially Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Friendly, approachable and a strong team player
  • Proactive by nature and flexible in approach, with the ability to operate in a constantly changing environment
  • Eager to learn, grow and develop
