The Role

As the Special Commercial Vehicle Integration Delivery Engineer you will enable the growth of Commercial Vehicles by offering fleet tailored engineering solutions in our Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) department. This position is to deliver bespoke enhancing electrical solutions to fleet/converter from concept to running production and onto customer handover.

The successful applicant will be required to develop and release electrical features but also will have to manage complex electrical projects and customer relationships from concept to launch through Agile processes.

Working from Dunton, 'The Home of the Transit', you will be a key member of the dynamic team that develops these specific, tailored designs, which touch every part of the vehicle & network to the multitude of modules & components that deliver the advanced features our vehicles offer create bespoke solutions to ensure our customers' needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Develop technical concepts and validation to integrate with base program electrical architecture
  • Project-manage electrical mega projects collaboratively
  • Support Deep-Co high visibility electrical projects
  • Establish robust business cases on bespoke fleet electrical solutions with electrical harnesses supplier, electronics supplier, marketing, purchasing and finance
  • Monitor Conversions impacting Electrical options. Investigate better solutions (Continuous improvement)
  • Lead engineering release / CAD packaging for all SVE electrical components & assemblies
  • Develop High Voltage SVE features for Electrified Vehicles
  • Provide collaborative support to the SVE electrical team
  • Perform system level verification and validation and provide system level Sign Off.
  • Author and maintain Body Equipment Mounting Manual electrical content
  • Track key open items and develop action plans in collaboration with SVE Engineering functional areas and x-functional teams o
  • Tracks open issues and support vehicle launch
  • Actively supports program strategies in line with Purchasing, Finance and Program timing needs

The 'nice to haves', we don't expect candidates to have all of these but please mention the ones that you do:
  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering Degree (Minimum 2:2)
  • Experienced user in Team Centre (view / modify) and CAD model reviews
