you'll undertake audits, helping to identify controls which mitigate key business risks and test that they're adequate and effective. You'll take responsibility for producing audit papers and building good stakeholder relationships.

Internal Audit (IA) are a 90-strong community with backgrounds in everything from Financial Crime and Compliance to IT and Retail. We use our expertise, critical thinking, and experience to complete internal audits across the whole Society.
We have several Audit Senior vacancies within our IT, Third Party & Change and Data audit teams.What you'll be doing
You'll be working as part of a team to deliver audits to a high standard.. You will use your communication and influencing skills to present your findings to senior management and agree on the actions that should be taken. You'll use agile auditing techniques to support efficient delivery of audits, maximise the value of audit work and build effective relationships with stakeholders. Your analytical skills will also be used to identify areas for improvement in the focus and/or efficiency of the team's work, whilst your influencing skills will be called into action in presenting these potential improvements to Internal Audit's senior leadership team.
As a minimum requirement for all roles
In addition, we are also looking for the further minimum requirements which are specific to each audit team as follows:Data/Analytics
- Work effectively on your own or with colleagues to deliver a variety of audits to a high quality, in accordance with agreed scope and in line with audit methodology;
- Ability to identify and assess the input, processing and output risks and controls (both manual and automated) for a given business process;
- Have experience of producing clear, comprehensive and concise documentation which will support your audit work;
- Previous experience of documenting and evaluating the information flow within a business process;
- Good communication and influencing skills at various levels including the ability to work independently and within a team;
- Have, or are on your way to, completing a relevant professional or industry-specific qualification and
- Good analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
We are looking for individuals with an understanding of the principles of data management, ideally gained in a financial services environment. Knowledge of data regulations, such as GDPR would be helpful, as would an understanding of data risks associated with customers, analytics and engineering activities. This role would suit an individual who is currently working in an audit or risk function, or someone who would like to develop their data management career. Third Party
We are looking for individuals with experience of auditing third party management, ideally gained in a financial services environment. An understanding of the risks and controls associated with material outsourcing, procurement, and/or service risk management is required. The role would suit an individual who works currently in third party management, or who works in a risk management or audit role covering this area.Change /Project Management
We are looking for individuals with experience of auditing or delivering strategic change, with an emphasis on agile change delivery mechanisms. An understanding of the risks and controls associated with change management, portfolio management and strategic governance over change would be required. The role would suit an individual working in a risk management or audit role in this area currently, or an individual working in change management who would like to develop a career in risk management/audit.IT
We are interested in individuals with a background in IT risk management or audit. We have a broad range of opportunities in the areas of application automated controls, Cloud and Payments. Individuals with a good understanding of the risks and controls in any of these areas would be welcome to apply. An understanding of agile IT development methods and IT change would be ideal, but not essential. Roles in IT audit would suit an IT auditor, risk-manager or practitioner in IT who would like to develop their career in risk management/audit.
