The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:

The duties of the role:
External reporting
- PE investor reporting - own, populate and submit monthly template
- Covenant certificate - own, calculate and submit quarterly to banks
- FCA regulatory return - prepare quarterly RMAR for the main trading entity
- Statutory financial statements - prepare certain disclosure notes and contribute to the audit process as required
Month end (main trading entity)
- Company level P&L oversight and control
- Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations and actively manage the satisfactory resolution of issues
- Overrider income accrual calculations and journals
- Payroll accounting
- Other ad-hoc analysis and journals
Month end (Group)
- Review, challenge, import and reconcile subsidiaries' Trial Balances
- Group consolidation review and control
- Assist with the ongoing accounting of newly acquired entities
- Maintenance and review of 3x Holding company ledgers
- Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining of month end processes
Tax
- VAT - devise and run new processes for the collation and submission of Group and entity returns
- PSA - perform annual calculation for the main trading entity
- Corporation Tax - assist with the annual computation process
- Payroll and employee benefits - assist in answering queries as they arise
Other
- Devise solutions to day-to-day accounting queries from the wider Finance Team
- Contribute to budget and forecast processes as required
- Assist with projects as required
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:
- Qualified accountant (audit practice background) with at least 3 years PQE
- Experience of insurance broking accounting, operations and regulations
- Prior exposure to the opportunities and challenges faced in a fast growth business
- Self-motivated, efficient and well organised
- Able to work under own initiative
- Flexible, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving skills
- Strong controls mindset
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Interest in and understanding of tax
- Advanced Excel skills
- Business Central experience (desirable, but not essential)
