The role
This is a new and exciting role which will give you the opportunity to shape a new business strategy at our fast growing brand. As the Buyer/Merchandiser, you will be developing our online marketplace strategy, and partnerships for all non-textiles product categories. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the infant/nursery accessory, toy and gift market, the top players and the consumer expectations. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience within a multi brand e-commerce / department store buying/merchandising background with an established network of brand and market contacts. You will have a proven track record in establishing new business and partnership management with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. As the first specialist in this area you will be key in setting the structure for future development
and growth.

Responsibilities
- New product selection & planning of the seasonal merchandise assortment that fits with MORI brand values and esthetics
- Buy to budget, and deliver the KPIs to drive sales, margin and profit, in line with the Business Plan
- Manage the pricing architecture to be competitive in the market, in accordance with the business KPI's and strategy
- Manage the commercial relationships with suppliers of the selected brands and products that will be offered on MORI's website
- Negotiate prices, quantities and delivery time-scales
- Liaise with other employees about sales performances, report on what is and isn't working and continuously optimise the product offering
- Ensure stock availability aligned with the sales targets, in coordination with the commercial teams
- Continually research the market to build plans for 'new' market opportunities which add incremental business in a competitive, relevant and innovative way
You
- Knowledge of the UK/US and European infant/ nursery accessory, toy and gift markets
- Over 5 years in a Buying/Merchandising role in the relevant categories with a track record of growing profitable sales
- Self-starter, passionate about the retail market and able to operate with a high level of autonomy with excellent communication skills to enable the development and growth of new business partner relationships
- Must have good familiarity with eCommerce buying and merchandising
- Must have aptitude with numbers to analyse the performance and deliver against the commercials targets
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Adaptable to change to react with agility to changing market conditions and business priorities
- Able to travel to relevant industry trade fairs in the UK, EU and USA
