Senior Sales Engineer - Retail Industry

Location: Home Office / Remote (must live in the UK)

Package: 100,000 basic salary + OTE / Bonus (20-30% of basic)

About the client:

Our client is an incredibly exciting software company in Europe and a global industry leader in Big Data and Analytics. They are a major vendor in Hybrid Cloud and Data Analytics

The role:

• To act as a trusted advisor for their prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle - from the design of architecture, demonstrating and positioning value for prospects, use cases or by connecting partners
• Using strong technical expertise and your hands-on nature, you'll excel in proof of value/proof of concepts and work alongside their sales and partner teams
• Conduct technical presentations and demos, highlight most important/valuable product features for prospects, sometimes also utilizing tools from the Business Intelligence /Data Warehouse and or Big Data ecosystems.

Your profile:

• Experience in a similar role working with Retail clients (solution architecture for clients in the retail industry)
• You have a wealth of experience in a Pre-Sales role, alternatively in a technical post-sales role or as a BI / DWH consultant
• Experience working on large accounts is desirable but not essential
• You have a solid understanding of modern data architectures and the cloud ecosystem including ETL to BI/analytics
• Adept with SQL/Data Warehousing and experience with at least one other programming/script language
• Customer-facing experience, happy presenting
• Enterprise level presentations to both technical and non-technical crowds

Your Skills:

• Retail Industry Experience
• MPP database experience
• experience in ETL / ELT
• Computer Science background is nice to have
• Programming experience with Python, Java, Bash, R, or C++
• Cloud environment experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP)
• Experience with Hadoop / Spark
