IPSL are looking for permanent 3rd Line Application Services Developer.

Hours & Location

The hours will be 35hrs Monday to Friday with team to cover between 08:00 and 18:00.

There is a requirement to be able to be part of an On-Call rota between 18:00 and 08:00 on a 1 in 4 weeks.

Initially, because of COVID, the role will be full time working from home, but this may change when it is safe to do so and you must be prepared to travel into the office in Northampton.

Overview

The Developer will be required to work within the 3rd line Application Services team on specific work items assigned by the Team Leader and provide input to identify root cause on incidents and offer potential fix solutions. The 3rd line Application Services team work to remediate production incidents to meet critical SLAs and in parallel deliver fixes to defects in short 2 to 4 week cycles.

Knowledge/Skills Required

Ideally fully skilled in .NET & SQL and well versed in the development and testing lifecycles with the ability to deliver quality code with the aim of reducing the number of defects delivered through the test cycles. You must be able to highlight risks and issues associated with the development of work packages while liaising with the relevant stakeholders from within the development lifecycle and ensure that deliverables adhere to governance processes. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and work closely with other teams when necessary to create software that is cohesive through the respective delivery gates including testing and implementation. Experience working on software development projects and experience in the finance sector, with payments and cheque clearing is advantageous.

Key Requirements for this Role

1. In-depth working knowledge of .NET, Microsoft Development Platforms & SQL.

2. Experience writing and optimising SQL queries.

3. Working knowledge of Azure DevOps.

4. Good code debugging experience

5. Ability to work independently or as part of a small team
