Job Details

Calero-MDSL is looking for a Software Engineer with the possibility to work remote full-time in the UK. The Software Engineer expands knowledge and skills in multiple tools, technologies and Calero-MDSL product areas. The engineer consistently applies and promotes best practices and standard procedures as a member of an agile development team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop ETL applications to extract, transform and load telecom invoice data
  • Provide operational support for ETL and Content Management related issues and requests.
  • Monitor and take corrective action on ETL exceptions.
  • Continuously expands ability to handle new and more complex programming tasks
  • Competent in programming and debugging across multiple modules and dealing with related external dependencies
  • Writes high-quality code with domain in mind
  • Authors, executes and monitors automated tests
  • Designs and performs manual verification and regression tests
  • Leads some discussions in research, grooming and planning on the team
  • Actively contributes on code and design reviews
  • May pair with Associate Engineers to assist in training

Technical Knowledge
  • ETL development
  • Object oriented programming
  • Application development (either web, distributed, Windows or Linux)
  • Unit, system and integration testing
  • Relational databases
  • Business intelligence and analytics platforms
  • Regular Expressions
  • Examples of relevant technologies currently used by Calero-MDSL:
  1. C#, C++, Java
  2. JavaScript, React, Redux, Python
  3. MS .NET Framework
  4. MS T-SQL
  5. AMQP (RabbitMQ)
  6. ColdFusion
  7. NUnit, Mocha
  8. Reporting Services
  9. Azure Data Factories

Skills and Education:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum
  • Worked in the Telecom Expense Management space and/or industry a plus
  • Experience with EDI (Edifact/X12)
  • Good understanding of the information security principles and frameworks like ISO 27001
