Job Title - Solution Engineer

Salary - Up to £42,000 plus benefits

Location - London

Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

What you'll do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Engineer who will assist in the design, build and deployment of IoT solutions primarily within the Azure platform. The Solution Engineer will be responsible for the ingestion, processing and storing of data from various sensors and equipment as well as contributing to the continuous development and improvement of the IoT Core Platform.

As a Solution Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting the design, build and deployment of IoT solutions primarily within the Azure cloud and edge platform
  • Providing support for existing solutions, including bug fixes and updating solutions inline with changes to the IoT Core Architecture
  • Contributing to the continuous development and improvement of IoT Core Platform
  • Ensuring solutions are secure by design during development and security continuously reviewed in line with Secure SDLC and industry best practices
  • Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures

The experience you will need

  • Computer Science/Engineering based degree or equivalent in-depth practical experience
  • Experience of software development in cloud environments specifically Azure
  • Experience of developing using core languages (C#, Python, Javascript etc)
  • Experience of developing with modern frameworks (.Net(core), ASP.NET, NodeJS, etc)
  • Familiarity with Azure IoT Services (IoT Hubs, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Function Apps)
  • Experience of developing using version control technologies (Git etc)
  • Familiarity with Agile principles and practices
  • An understanding of the full software development life cycle
  • Experience of incorporating security into all layers of the development process

  • Understanding of hardware protocols/interfaces (RS-232, ModBus, SCADA)
  • Understanding of core IoT principles (edge computing, digital twin, gateways)
  • IP networking and protocols (Routing, Switching, VPN, MQTT, AMQP, HTTP, SSL, HTTPS, Load Balancing)
  • Understanding of DevOps / CICD practices
