ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a bilingual Mandarin/English Category Manager who will be a key member of the Home, Gifts, Accessories and Health & Beauty team working on product and business development. Ideal for a proactive, adaptable individual who can juggle a busy workload, multitask and who has a passion for brand development.

Role Description:

  • Conduct regular competitor and market research: attend Trade shows, store checks and online research, which can be used by the department to inform strategy and product development
  • Manage critical paths for our roster of licensees
  • Conduct new partner Brand Inductions
  • Support SVP and Design team in product development and approvals
  • Liaise with Marketing department and other teams including Legal, Finance & other Category Teams
  • Track sell-in and sell-through information from licensees
  • Produce best and worst seller reports, creating a visual library for the team
  • Manage sample storage and receipt samples into system
  • Collect hi-res imagery from catalogues & in market activity, maintaining a visual archive for the cateogries
  • Update category presentations on an ongoing basis where required
  • Assist in creation / updating of pitch documents and seasonal product display boards


Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have Buying or Design related studies
  • An interest in the retail industry, product development and brand licensing
  • A self-starter with good organisational and time management skills aiding the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • A proactive, creative thinker who stays one step ahead
  • Good people skills and the ability to communicate with partners in a wide variety of countries with clarity and precision
  • Good presentation and written skills
  • Energetic, savvy and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Mandarin speaker with good English speaking and writing ability
