Purpose of the role

The Account Director is a senior strategic and creative client-facing position providing leadership to a team of account executives and account managers. The purpose of the role is to focus on building and maintaining client relationships, with responsibility for account profitability, excellent client service, cross-selling services and products, and team and people development.

A key component of this role is the ability to win, lead, retain and grow accounts by bringing strategic and creative insights to client pitches, proposals and programs. There will also be opportunities on global accounts, working with our EMEA and APAC teams.

Main responsibilities
  • Support in the development of strategies aimed at driving growth for Digital, across accounts with an emphasis on Digital/Marketing
  • Plan, implement and maintain digital marketing and social media (organic and paid) projects for LEWIS clients, creating innovative and targeted opportunities
  • Lead daily execution of Digital Marketing, Social/ Paid Media campaigns (Social and Search)
  • Use social listening tools and analytical services to generate insight, fuel social conversation and maximise SEO activity
  • Analyse performance data and provide intelligent insights
  • Measure client growth and impact across all social and paid media channels including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Google Ads
  • Refine methodologies in full funnel marketing measurement and reporting of ROI
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with top-tier clients, provide strategic digital consultancy and initiatives for retention and organic growth
  • Engage in and ensure a strategic relationship with the client, providing insight and partnership across all aspects of the marketing and communications spectrum
  • Responsible for ensuring excellent client communication at all levels; defining KPIs, deadlines and service agreements
  • Delivers an added-value consultancy and works closely with clients to deliver campaigns, services and products across traditional and emerging communications channels
  • Ensure account profitability and optimise the impact of revenue on the business
  • Lead the new business process in collaboration with the Business Development Director, making key decisions and selling LEWIS credentials throughout the tender process
  • Take overall leadership responsibility for the account team, including coaching, supervision, assessment and reviews of all team members
  • Set strategic team objectives on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Monitor team activity levels against budget, increasing fees and negotiating with clients
  • Acts as a respected line manager, working closely with line reports to maximise strengths, improve weaknesses and support career development
  • Ensures profitability on all accounts and effectively manages budgets
  • Communicates account performance internally and provide strategic advice to the client based on measurable analysis
  • Monitors and reports on account KPIs and ensure accurate reporting by junior team members
  • Runs and supports training sessions, with a view to maximising opportunities to expand team skills and grow revenues

About you

LEWIS are looking for an experienced Account Director from a Digital background either from a Digital or Integrated communications agency that understands and maximises the impact of client revenues on the business. We are looking for a forward thinking and innovative individual looking to challenge themselves in a busy environment.

Additional requirements
  • Experience working with tier one brands, providing C-level executives with strategic digital consultancy
  • Experience overseeing full funnel B2B marketing programmes; familiarity with holistic reporting on ROI
  • Skilled at integrating marketing with Digital, PR, Social Media, content and broader marketing activities
  • Track record of exceeding goals and driving revenue growth; evidence of consistently making good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends and potential pitfalls
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to problem solve, project manage and multi-task. Will take charge of a situation and act, taking unpopular stands when necessary.
