The role:

This role is perfect for an ambitious newly qual accountant to take on and own the day-to-day finance function of a fast growing startup. We have put a strong finance function in place, and now it's time to grow the team, get even better and prepare for the next growth phase of the Company.

As the business grows we will outgrow our current processes and there is huge scope for being a key part of significant process improvement and system implementation projects.

There will also be plenty of exposure to the wider company providing business partner support on a wide range of projects, from developing and rolling out new pricing structures to advising on new monetisation features for our hosts.

With 150% growth in 2020 and the same expected in 2021 this is the ideal opportunity to join Disciple and help us build out our operations team.

You'll report to our: Financial Controller

Head Office: Farringdon.

You will be responsible for:

  • All transactional processes including - reconciliation, invoicing, collections & aged debt, payroll and expenses
  • Work closely with Frankie, our FC, and Mark, our COO/CFO, providing financial support and insight to inform commercial decision making
  • Work with the wider team (Product, Tech, Sales, CS) on multiple ad-hoc projects (pricing, payment infrastructure, monetisation, analytical work)
  • Work with our Sales teams to ensure effective customer onboarding from a Finance perspective
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Revenue recognition
  • Cash Flow management
  • Subscription management
  • Systems management
  • Continuously improve processes and strive to automate where possible
  • Manage Bank Account and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Provide financial reporting and variance analysis to senior management
  • Own the month-end process (accruals, prepayments, posting adjustments etc)
  • Assist with Year-End reporting and Statutory Accounts
  • Be involved in future funding rounds from start to finish
  • Help manage and facilitate employee related schemes


People we'll love will have:

  • Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Excellent Google Sheets skills (we still fallback to Excel when needed!) and experience working with Xero
  • Some experience in a Software or Software as a Service Business (SaaS) is a plus
  • A belief in the mission and a drive to roll up their sleeves and get the job done
  • A curious mind for tackling and solving complex problems that result in a stronger finance team and Company
  • An excitement for working in a fast growing startup where they can learn, grow quickly and make an out-sized contribution
  • Great attention to detail, you don't let things fall through the cracks and the little things matter
