Welcome to Viddyoze, a hyper-growth, UK-based SaaS video animation company. We're ambitious, fast-moving and disruptive - and we like helping individuals and businesses make better video content in an effortless way.

We're looking for a super-talented, self-motivated Senior Content Editor to join our team and help transform our website and blog into an industry-leading platform. You will be:
  • Passionate about creating amazing content, from text-based articles and social media posts to video content and podcasts
  • Extremely knowledgeable about all things digital and media
  • Highly organised with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptionally self-motivated

This is primarily an office-based role at our very cool HQ in Preston but we're big on flexible working (and, during the Covid-19 pandemic, following official guidance).

What you will be doing

Some of your key responsibilities include:
  • Seeing that the content strategy is implemented
  • Managing all aspects of content production, from planning and creating to publishing and reporting
  • Writing and editing brilliant, engaging and effective copy across our website, the blog, podcast, social media, video email and more
  • Ensuring all content is optimised and in-line with SEO best practice
  • Working on projects that support wider business needs, from decks and training guides to internal memos and guides
  • Proofing and editing all content, maintaining high editorial standards and ensuring that quality control checks are carried out without fail
  • Managing talent in-house and externally, as and when required

Key skills and experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional writing skills across all types of content, from short- and long-form articles to ebooks, reports, social media posts and videos
  • Experience of writing in multiple styles and adhering to different style guides
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills - nothing gets past you because your understanding of the English language is second to none. Simply put, you know intuitively what is good and what isn't
  • A strong understanding of and experience in writing optimised content - you have demonstrable experience of SEO
  • You are able to turn around commissions quickly, as and when required - without compromising on quality
  • phenomenally organised - you're familiar with Gantt chart, have experience of using project management tools and shiver at the thought of missing a deadline
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics, as well as working with metrics and KPIs to assess performance
  • Hands-on CMS experience (WordPress, Drupal, Contently, etc)
  • Experience of managing social media platforms, both creating assets and managing communities

Any or all the following is a BIG plus for us
  • Experience in writing about SaaS and/or tech-based products or services
  • A degree in journalism, English, professional writing, communications or digital media/marketing
  • Experience of writing strategically and effectively for email
  • Experience of UX writing
  • Experience in working with other types of content, namely video, animation and/or audio

Desirable but not essential
  • Experience of shooting and editing videos
  • Experience of working with audio, such as podcasts
  • Confident at using Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • An understanding of or experience in content design
