Head of Software Engineering - Tech Scaleup, Ruby, React, Microservices, AWS

This is a permanent position, working for a UK based based and can be offered on a fully remote basis (you must be eligible to work for a UK company on a permanent basis).

The business are an exciting Tech business, with a Machine Learning driven real time Pricing Platform, who have recently launched the product in the USA and are now embarking on globalising their product!

After only 4 years, they have ongoing revenue from a growing UK client base, new revenue from the USA and a new strategic partnership who are providing market reach and significant funding to scale at pace, hence the need for a seasoned VP Engineering to steer them from a technical perspective.

You will be heading up Engineering, from team management, to Architectural and tooling decisions and running code reviews too, making sure the platform continues to scale robustly, with regular enhancements to the current product and new features too.

The current tech stack is Ruby on Rails, AWS, Micro services architecture, Kafka, React, GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, with the past year spent re Engineering the Product with micro services architecture and with new DevOps provisioning and Automation Testing introduced.

The business stand at around 25 currently, with 12+ in the Engineering team and set to grow over the next 12 months.

Ideally you will come from a Software Engineering background (Ruby is not essential), to be able to contribute to Technical conversations and undertake code reviews. You would report in directly to the COO and steer the Engineering endeavours of the business, Engineering culture and scaling of the product.
