Data Engineer (Contract)

Length: 6 months

Location: Remote

You will be working with an exciting start-up in its early days looking to modernize an old fashioned industry. You will be working closely with the CTO as well as engineers and analysts alike, designing and maintaining ETL Data pipelines and delivering insights to the business. As this is a small tech team you will be someone who is comfortable making technical decisions, taking ownership and having your own autonomy to make technical decisions.

The successful Data Engineer will be responsible for:

• Designing, architecting and implementing best in-class Data Warehousing and reporting solutions
• Building and maintaining ETL Data pipelines
• Building real-time data and reporting solutions
• Designing, building and enhancing dimensional models for Data Warehouse
• Developing new systems/tools to enable the teams to understand data more intuitively
• Diagnosing and solving issues in our existing data pipelines and envisioning and building their successors
• Building and maintaining data dictionary and process documentation

The company are gearing up towards their first round of funding so experience having worked in an expanding and growing start up is a must have.

Key Skills:

• Data Engineering - 4 years' minimum
• Cloud experience (preferably GCP)
• Python/Java/Scala
• Previous experience of working for a start up

Bonus Experience:

• Docker
• Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position.
