DescriptionThis is a brand new, exciting role on TechRadar, the UK's leading consumer technology website and a global giant with more than 57 million monthly unique users.
If you have a passion for consumer technology, driving editorial content and working across multiple teams located in a number of countries, then this is the role for you.
The Deputy Managing Editor for TechRadar will have various responsibilities, including the day-to-day management of TechRadar's licensees as well as other core editorial processes.
The Deputy Managing Editor will report to the Global Managing Editor and will ideally be based in London but applications from candidates based in Bath are also welcome.
ResponsibilitiesGrow the traffic and improving commercial performance of licensee sites via the following;
Manage TechRadar's Creative Solutions commissions
Manage TechRadar's notification pushes
Writing and subbing
Requirements

The Deputy Managing Editor will report to the Global Managing Editor and will ideally be based in London but applications from candidates based in Bath are also welcome.
ResponsibilitiesGrow the traffic and improving commercial performance of licensee sites via the following;
- Day-to-day working with English and foreign language teams in over 10 countries, providing training, editorial guidance and troubleshooting
- Weekly meetings to feedback on editorial progress, highlight upcoming events, respond to queries and issues
- Co-ordinating reviews and event coverage between core TechRadar team and licensee teams
- Content audits: volume, quality, style, SEO, ecommerce
- On-boarding new licensees
- Training licensees on the CMS, SEO practices and TechRadar's editorial style
Manage TechRadar's Creative Solutions commissions
- Liaise with the Creative Solutions team on new advertorial/supported commissions
- Source and commission freelancers to write and edit the articles
- Upload to CMS and ensure correct images, links and tags are present
- Create social posts for articles if required
Manage TechRadar's notification pushes
- Schedule notifications throughout week
- Work closely with editors to plan notifications
- Track notification performance to improve future pushes
- Work with Day Editor to identify trending topics via Google Analytics, Parse.ly and social media
Writing and subbing
- Writing: Required to write a weekly feature for the weekend, and assist with coverage of events, shows and launches
- Subbing: Regularly work with the Production Editor and the team to improve the quality of copy across TechRadar
Requirements
- 3 years experience working in digital publishing - ideally technology, but not essential
- Experience of managing colleagues
- A passion and knowledge of consumer technology and helping consumers
- Excellent SEO, eCommerce and writing for the web knowledge
- Experience using Content Management Systems and analytics/social tools such as Google Analytics, AirTable, Parse.ly, OneSignal, SocialFlow, Buffer
