As a Requirements Engineer within Nationwide's Engineering Centre of Excellence you will join a supportive team of colleagues working in an agile environment delivering a variety of IT solutions for our customers. You will initially be deployed to the Cloud platform, where you will work with experts in Cloud, Networks and Security to analyse existing systems and migrate them to the Cloud.

The Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) is the single point of contact for our migration to Cloud. Drawing expertise from across the organisation, the CCoE offers a complete end-to-end service for the Society by providing a focal point for the delivery of cloud expertise, education, products and services, ensuring all the required controls are in place to keep our member's data safe.

What you'll be doing

You will be working in an agile environment, assessing Nationwide's existing systems and applications for migration to the cloud. You will identify and document technical requirements for migration, working closely with the relevant Subject Matter Experts to identify potential issues and create business cases for migration. Your documentation will be clear, concise, timely and traceable and support the flow of activity within the team. Over time you will develop a knowledge of Nationwide's estate, agile development methods and Cloud technologies and work with the Engineering CoE to develop our assessment capability.

About you

We are looking for candidates with:

• A logical and inquiring mind, excellent listening and investigative skills and the persistence to uncover the root of a problem

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• The ability to analyse problems and present solutions clearly and concisely at a level appropriate to the audience

• An agile mindset and flexible approach to work

• A background in technology, preferably with some previous hands on coding or scripting experience

• An understanding of database, network and infrastructure fundamentals

• An understanding of design principles

• A desire to learn (and keep learning) about the different systems and technologies within Nationwide's estate And the ability to pay attention to detail, but not get lost in it

• Self-start and quickly orient themselves within a project

• Multi-task and manage work across different work streams

• Create a positive and supportive environment for fellow team members

• Be resilient to a changing environment and adapt to project demands

• Build trust with stakeholders through the quality of your work and timeliness of delivery It will be advantageous to have:

• Experience/Awareness of Cloud technologies

• Previous experience of technical migration activities
