Director of Systems Development (Payments), Hedge Funds

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, technical development lead with a background in cash payments and SWIFT connectivity in order to drive forwards initiatives in our hedge fund services business. The role requires to develop and maintain cash payment applications that support the fund services business. The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering complex projects from inception to completion and possess strong business analysis skills. Knowledge of cash payments systems and SWIFT file formats is essential. Good communication skills are required to work with business and technical teams in determining requirements and designing appropriate technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Technical Lead to develop, code review and support a suite of Java based web applications to build and maintain payment system
• Communicate with internal and external clients to elicit requirements
• Co-ordinate development with teams based in London, New York and India
• Deliver expert, hands-on technical support for urgent troubleshooting
• Train team to provide quality technical deliverables and timely support resolutions

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
• Technical lead experience
• Strong technical skills in Java, web and relational database technologies
• In-depth experience with unit testing, integration testing, and load testing
• Full lifecycle development experience with applications deployed on Linux
• Application performance management skills
• Knowledge of SWIFT ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 formats
• Spring, Spring MVC, REST web services and GIT Version Control
• SQL tuning skills
• Knowledge of secure coding practices
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
