The Berkley Re team based in London is a provider of Property & Casualty Reinsurance writing an International account from a European base. Our experienced underwriting teams write a broad range of Property Treaty, Casualty Treaty and Property Facultative products. The location of our offices in the heart of the London insurance market, coupled with the talent of the team, enables us to deliver mutually beneficial reinsurance arrangements in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • To handle a portfolio of Reinsurance Treaty and Facultative Property and Casualty claims arising from Excess of Loss, Proportional Treaty and Facultative business written by Berkley Re UK (BRUK).
  • To ensure claims are managed proactively and efficiently in accordance with the prevailing business, legal and regulatory environment.
  • To assess policy coverage and liability for all claims notifications received within authority
  • To manage and settle claims arising on policies written by BRUK ensuring accurate reserve calculations and managing cross market exposures.
  • To action Class/ECF and Direct claims advices, process treaty statements and deal with cash calls, expediently and within internal KPI's, minimum standards and market expectation.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with the Underwriting, Actuarial and Finance Teams.
  • To review and maintain internal databases with relevant claims data.
  • To ensure accuracy of data contained within claims system.
  • To carry out ad hoc administration tasks as required.
  • To comply with relevant company procedures and policies.
  • To act in accordance with BRUK Claims philosophy.
  • To contribute to enhancements and modifications to claims processes and systems to generate sustained improvement.
